"Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you did not sow, and gathering where you scattered no seed... His lord answered and said to him, 'You wicked and lazy servant! I. The Audacity of the Unprofitable Servant
When sickness strikes, when bodies break down, and when the consequences of a life spent serving human systems come due, a quiet toxicity reveals itself in the human heart. Man turns his eyes toward heaven and demands: "Why would God allow this? Why hasn't God healed me? Why has He abandoned me?"
What arrogance! What utter blindness!
You spent seventy years sowing into a system that hates your soul, and when your harvest of decay arrives, you blame the Creator! You spent your youth, your intellect, your energy, and the very breath in your lungs building the kingdom of men, and when that kingdom crumbles—when your body fails under the weight of its toxins and stress—you run to God as if He owes you a debt.
God owes no man anything. The universe operates on an unbending, divine law that no human institution can negotiate away: you reap exactly what you sow.

"Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life."

II. What Have You Done with What Was Entrusted to You?
God gave you life. He breathed His holy spirit into your lungs, gave you gifts, intellect, energy, and time. He handed you a portion of His creation and said, "Steward this. Enrich My kingdom."
And what did you do with it?
You handed those divine gifts directly over to the system. You went to their universities, learned their tricks, and spent your entire life climbing their corporate or professional ladders. You became a doctor, an engineer, a lawyer, or a businessman—not to set men free, not to heal the brokenhearted, and not to offer your services freely in the love of God—but to secure a salary, buy a status symbol, build a private fortress, and isolate yourself from the suffering world.
You worked for money. You traded the divine spark inside you for a monthly paycheck. You spent decades hoarding wealth in earthly banks, insulating yourself with brick, concrete, and retirement funds, hiding from the poor, the sick, and the helpless. Then, after forty years of selfish accumulation, you threw a few scraps of change into a collection plate, helped two people on a weekend, and expected God to write your name in gold!
You built your kingdom, not His. You stored your treasures in banks that rust and rot, rather than in heaven where thieves cannot break in (-20). Why should God bless a life that was entirely spent enriching His enemy?
III. The Hypocrisy of Professional "Service"
The world praises the prestigious professional. It bows before the doctor, the architect, and the high-earning consultant. But God looks directly at the heart:
- Did you serve freely? Or did you charge a fee for every hour of mercy?
- Did you heal out of divine love? Or did you practice your trade only when guaranteed an insurance payout or a high salary?
- Did you give your life away? Or did you sell it to the highest bidder?
If you only serve when you are paid by the system, you have already received your reward in full (). You were an employee of the machine, not a servant of the Most High.

When disease or trouble comes knocking at your door, you suddenly realize that all the money in your bank accounts cannot buy back a single day of life, nor can your professional titles command the hand of God. The system you spent your life serving leaves you cold on a hospital bed, taking the last of your money while offering no cure for the soul.
IV. "I Will Not Hear You Until You Humble Yourself"
The most dangerous part of human pride is that even in suffering, man remains arrogant. When trouble strikes, people do not bow in repentance; they raise their fists and demand an explanation from God!
"You wicked and lazy servant!"
You come before the Creator with a demanding spirit, asking why He hasn't healed your body or saved your business, while your heart remains as hard and proud as ever. You offer no humility, no genuine sorrow for a wasted life, and no acknowledgment that you stole the time, talent, and energy that belonged to Him and handed it to a corrupt system.
God's response to the proud and demanding hypocrite is unyielding:
"I will not bless you while you stand before Me in pride. I will not hear your prayers while you hold onto the stolen goods of your self-righteousness. Return what you have stolen! Humble your heart, strip off your titles, empty your pride, and bow before the throne in sackcloth and ashes!"
God does not bargain with proud men. He does not send blessings to validate a life spent serving idols. Until a human being breaks, until they admit that their education was vanity, their wealth was an illusion, and their life was spent building a kingdom of dust, the heavens remain as brass.
V. Returning What Was Stolen
True freedom begins at the exact moment human self-righteousness dies.
If you want to know God’s mercy, if you want His healing, His peace, and His divine presence to enter your life, you must stop blaming Him for the crop you planted with your own hands.
- 01Acknowledge the Theft: Admit that you took the life, time, and talent God gave you and sold them to a system that worships money and control.
- 02Break the Pride: Stop listing your achievements, your degrees, and your good deeds as if they impress the Almighty. "All our righteous acts are like filthy rags" ().
- 03Surrender the Harvest: Shift your allegiance. Take your remaining days, your remaining energy, and your remaining wealth, and place them entirely at the feet of the King.
God does not want your excuses; He wants your brokenness. He does not need your credentials; He wants your heart. When you stop demanding that God serve your comfort, and instead fall on your knees to ask how you can finally serve His truth, the door of heaven opens.
Reap where you have sown—or repent, abandon the field of human vanity, and sow at last into the eternal Kingdom of God.
"God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble. Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded."
James 4:6-8
